The local church is Christ’s bride and we want to do our part to make her as strong as she possibly can be. In a way, we view ourselves as somewhat of a bridesmaid, solely existing to serve the bride. We believe that the local church is the strongest when she is loving God and loving people the most. To this end, Unthinkable is a collective of people whose goal is to inspire and equip Christ’s followers to love God and love people more completely.

The phrase “Love God. Love People.” is often overused and not understood. Here is what we think the Bible teaches about it…

Deeply loving God is the centerpiece of the Christian faith. It has been since its inception. Our aim is nothing new. We want to lead everyone to more authentically love God. Saying “I love God” and actually loving God are two different things. Majority of Americans call themselves Christian. Unfortunately, while many people identify themselves as “Christian”, it is becoming increasingly difficult to SEE the love of Christ among His people. We want to change that. We don’t just want people to say “amen” with their words, we want them to say “amen” with their hearts and lives.

We believe that when Christ followers more authentically love God, through community with other believers, deep study of the Word, honest prayer, and genuine worship, they will be inspired and equipped to more effectively love people. This evident love, which is produced by God’s spirit, will lead to more people truly experiencing the love of God through the love of His Church.

We want everyone we come in contact with to love God and love people more than before they interacted with us. Loving God and loving people is not a new idea, but we think it would be unthinkable for people to actually do it. Thankfully, because of the power of God’s Holy Spirit, the Church is equipped with every tool to do just that. The Church is fully equipped to be unthinkable, and we are going to do everything we can to push her towards that.

We believe that when local churches fulfill the greatest commandment in this way, they will in turn fulfill the Great Commission.
