My Concrete Mattress (MCM) was the first official project of Unthinkable. Filmed in December 2007, MCM is a feature-length documentary that captures and portrays the lives of four homeless people: John, Dwight, Deborah and Anthron. The purpose of our film was to help move people beyond the general stereotypes that have been placed on the homeless. They are people, not merely statistics. Our film was made to humanize a group of people that we believed many have been dehumanized.
Though our quality has improved and our focus has evolved, MCM was our very first project. It was where it all began. We are so excited to share what we were able to create. Enjoy!
